Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and joyous holiday. Thank you for brightening the season for others!
As we prepare for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, our hearts are grateful for the many ways the Holly Springs Food Cupboard was able to serve others during this challenging year, thanks to our community.
The Cupboard served 122 families last Thursday, Dec. 17, and distributed 112 track out bags with kid-friendly food items for students. While the numbers of those we serve were higher than ever before during 2020, the support from our community rose to meet the increased need. Financial donations, food drives, service projects and volunteer hours poured in, helping provide food for people in need in our community.
Thank you for everything you have done this year to help people in need. May your Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays be overflowing with joy.
Niche 50/50 Raffle
Niche in downtown Holly Springs is holding a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Holly Springs Food Cupboard this month. Drop by to enjoy some wine, and enter to win. Half of the proceeds raised in the raffle will go to the Cupboard and the other half to the winner. Good luck!
Thank you, Carolina Brewing Company!
Thanks to Carolina Brewing Company’s blood drive last week, the Holly Springs Food Cupboard is receiving a $10 donation for each blood donor and donations from the brewing company based on draft beers sold that day. Many participants also donated their VISA gift cards to the Cupboard as well.
Thank you Carolina Brewing Company, and thank you Holly Springs community!
Do you need food assistance? Know someone who does?
Please visit us. These are unprecedented circumstances, and we are here to help. Drive-through food distribution is every Thursday, 2-5 p.m. Deliveries are available to senior citizens and persons with compromised health or without transportation. Click here for more information.
Donating food?
Thank you! The Cupboard is closed this week for the Christmas holiday (no distribution on Thursday, Dec. 24 / Christmas Eve.) We will open again for donations on Monday, Dec. 28 and distribution on Thursday, Dec. 31.
Next week, we are back to our usual schedule – able to receive food on Mondays, 9-11 a.m. (this is our preferred time) and Thursdays, noon-5 p.m. Place donations on our delivery dock on the side of our facility and knock to allow for safe distancing. Or, give us a call and we can meet you to pick up food from your neighborhood.
If you’re looking for ways to help, consider donating cloth or vinyl reusable shopping bags and other items for student track-out bags that contain kid-friendly foods and snack items for students without access to school-provided meals. With schools not fully reopened, we’ve seen a more than 300% increase in the track-out bags we give to families with children.
Most needed items:
- Shelf stable milks in individual or quart size
- Individual juices
- Pop top fruits
- Granola or cereal bars
- Reusable grocery size cloth or vinyl bags
